While many people start their day with a glass of Tropicana orange juice, there can be a little issue lingering at the bottom of the glass, that combination of orange juice and toothpaste. Anyone who has brushed their teeth after enjoying that beverage appreciates that the resulting combination might not be the most pleasant combination. Luckily, there is a better solution.

Recently, Tropicana conducted a survey. According to the results, “eighty percent (78%) of people agree that brushing your teeth with toothpaste can ruin the taste of orange juice in the morning.” This concept is more than just opinion. It is rooted in scientific fact.

According to various sources, the compounds in toothpaste lessen a person’s ability to taste sweet. So, a beverage that is both sweet and tart will taste less sweet and more bitter. In that case, the flavor can become unpleasant.

As seen in the Tropicana survey, respondents described the orange juice and toothpaste combination as like “burnt toast or dirty pennies.” While the combination might not be food extreme gone bad, it isn’t a food flavor favorite. Some people even commented that this combination should be avoided like socks and sandals.

But, avoiding brushing your teeth after drinking a glass of orange juice is not an option. Since there is acid in orange juice, it can lead to damaging tooth enamel if it is not brushed away.

Luckily, Tropicana has created a solution to the orange juice and too dilemma. In partnership with Dynamic Blending Specialists, there is a Tropicana Toothpaste. This special offering cannot be found in stores, but it can be found via the brand’s social media account.

Starting on November 1, fans can learn more about this special offering. While some people have some disbelief, the idea is real. In some ways, some people wished that this solution had been available sooner.
