Subway launches a new low carb bread with some help from Tom Brady

While many people enjoy eating fresh at Subway, Tom Brady is encouraging people to grab a footlong for another reason. In a recent company announcement, a new low carb bread option. This new menu item could be the big win for Subway.

Recently, Subway has looked to revitalize its brand. From new menu items to new celebrity partnerships, the quick service restaurant has sought to change consumers’ perceptions about the infamous sandwich chain.

Even with the various new subs on the menu, one item had been missing from the menu board, a low carb bread option. Many guests had commented that this food choice would be a game changer. Whether the low carb bread would fit into a particular lifestyle choice or just offer more menu choices, the change would set Subway apart in the quick service restaurant space.

How is Tom Brady helping Subway with the new low carb bread?

While he might be the GOAT on the field, Brady has been very vocal about this healthy eating habits. While TB12 has been praised by many people, it follows a very particular food plan.

For the launch of the low carb bread, aka the Hero Bread, Subway is showcasing Brady’s TB12 seal of approval. As seen in the video, Brady said that he is “pumped to get back to bread all because of Hero.”

According to Subway, the Hero Bread is “one-net-carb, zero-sugar bread.” Specifically, it features, “0 grams of sugar, 1 net carb, 12 grams of protein and 26 grams of fiber for a 6” sandwich.”

While the first offering will be available in the classic Artisan Italian Bread, it will be interesting to a taste test side by side with the original Subway bread. Although some people who have been bread deprived might be salivating at the opportunity to eat that first loaf, others will want to taste the difference for themselves. As long as the bread delivers on flavor, everyone will feel that they scored.

The new Hero Bread will be available at the at select test markets from the end of October through mid-December. These markets will include Savannah, Des Moines, Colorado Springs and Boise, according to the brand.
