The holidays officially start when the 2021 Starbucks Red Cups arrive. Even though that advent calendar holds a new treat every day of December, the popular holiday cups are coming even sooner than the final month of the year. Are you ready to enjoy those favorite holiday beverages in that iconic red cup?

The Starbucks red cup has become a holiday tradition. While there have been giveaways, special promotions and other events, the reality is that the special designs have meaning beyond keeping that favorite Peppermint Mocha Latte warm.

When discussing this year’s campaign, Suzie Reecer, Starbucks associate creative director, said, “This holiday, we wanted it to feel magical, we wanted it to be warm, and we wanted it to be inclusive. Our goal was to really bring joy to every customer and every partner.”

Starting on November 4, the new four new cup designs feature classic red, white and green colors. In addition, each design has a touch of frosted lilac and a gift tag on the back.

The look is meant to bring festive fun to the holiday season. From the movement of the design to the shimmering color scheme, it is hard not to smile when looking at the 2021 Starbucks Red Cups.

What new beverage should you enjoy from the 2021 Starbucks Red Cups?

According to Starbucks, favorite holiday beverages, including Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Irish Cream Cold Brew, are returning this year. Although the gingerbread coffee is available in the Starbucks at home coffee, it does not appear that the gingerbread latte is on the restaurant menu.

The biggest news is that Starbucks has added a plant-based holiday beverage. The new Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte is describes as “home-baked holiday cookies, and features sugar cookie-flavored syrup, combined with Starbucks Blonde Espresso, ice and creamy almondmilk.”

Based on the description, the beverage could be a little sweet. While it comes with red and green sprinkles, it seems to convey those classic holiday cookies that are a classic.

Since not everyone prefers almondmilk, it will be interesting to see if this latte could be transformed into a non-plant based option. Some people might like that sugar cookie-flavored syrup in other beverages.

The 2021 Starbucks Red Cups and holiday beverages will hit restaurants on November 4 and will be available through the holiday season or while supplies last.
