McDonald’s put Friendsgaming on the holiday schedule
While many people celebrate Friendsgiving, McDonald’s is adding a new holiday tradition, Friendsgaming. This epic combination of online gaming camaraderie and food is a big win. Ready to take over the leaderboard this holiday season?
McDonald’s staring this new tradition because it appreciates that gaming brings people together. While the holiday season is a reason to connect, it doesn’t always have to happen face-to-face. Sometimes a great friendship can be fostered across a screen.
In partnership with “FaZe Clan, the digital-native lifestyle and media platform rooted in gaming,” McDonald’s is serving up special combination of food and fun. With the help of the Crispy Chicken Sandwiches, which are the “official fuel of Friendsgaming,” this special event will be the talk of the holiday season.
On November 20 at 8 p.m. EST, there will be a “special live Twitch stream on FaZe Swagg’s channel, starring FaZe Swagg, FaZe JSmooth, FaZe Booya and FaZe Santana.” Everyone is encouraged to tune in.
Ready to gear up for the McDonald’s Friendsgaming?
As part of the Friendsgaming experience, McDonald’s is offering an exclusive merchandise collaboration. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich Expansion Pack features not only a great tasting food offer but also a variety of gaming gear to get secure your place on the leaderboard.
Drawing inspiration from that Crispy Chicken Sandwich, the pack has everything from special “crispy” controller grips to food carrier bag to keep everything warm so that no one misses a moment of action.
This newest merchandise collaboration shows a riff on the celebrity merchandise offerings. While many pop stars have had their celebrity meal inspired clothing, the reality is that gaming and its stars are just as influential as other performers on a stage.
While other quick service restaurants have leveraged the gaming space, this promotion shows that McDonald’s appreciates that it needs to celebrate this group of fans as well. In some ways, the gaming space could be a real winner. If a special gaming meal becomes a good luck charm, it could be huge.
