Duff Goldman to host Thanksgiving Bake-A-Thon for No Kid Hungry
Add another food show to watch besides the Holiday Baking Championship because Duff Goldman is hosting Thanksgiving Bake-A-Thon on Saturday November 13. This four-hour livestream event benefits No Kid Hungry. While helping a worthy cause, the food event might inspire some delicious holiday baking.
According to No Kid Hungry, this holiday season may not be merry and bright for everyone. The organization says that 1 in 6 kids will face hunger this year. As some families sit down to the bountiful table, that situation is not the same for everyone.
What will viewers see on the Thanksgiving Bake-A-Thon?
As the host of the Thanksgiving Bake-A-Thon, Duff Goldman is joined by a wide array of talented bakers and popular television personalities. Celebrity bakers and culinary influences include “Actress Tamera Mowry-Housley and Bill Yosses (Hulu’s “Baker’s Dozen”), Chef Joanne Chang (Flour Bakery + Cafe), Gemma Stafford (Bigger Bolder Baking), Amy Robach (Good Morning America) and more.”
Throughout the four-hour live stream, the bakers will share favorite baking recipes, cooking techniques and even take answers from the audience. While the bakers might not be able to reverse engineer Grandma’s secret apple pie recipe, they can help you avoid making some common baking mistakes.
And, the recipes that they are demoing might become part of an upcoming holiday celebration. After so many people honed those baking skills, it might be time to try a new recipe.
The special Thanksgiving Bake-A-Thon benefiting No Kid Hungry will be held on the No Kid Hungry’s Facebook page via a livestream. The event will be held on November 13 from 1-5 p.m. ET.
While the event is free to attend, guests are encouraged to make a donation. A $1 donation can provide up to 10 meals for those in need.
This holiday season spread some cheer and good will beyond the family table. Sometimes the best gift is one that helps others.
