As everyone plans their Thanksgiving feast, the special premiere of Food Network Battle for the Bird could be the holiday food television special that every home cook craves. Blending humor and cooking techniques, this special could be the ultimate Thanksgiving hack.

Instead standing watch over the Worst Cooks, Anne Burrell heads into the Food Network kitchen for a new type of food competition. Joining Burrell is Carson Kressley. The style maven and foodie, Kressley adds the extra seasoning to this holiday competition experience.

Premiering on Sunday, November 14 at 10 p.m. ET, this one-hour food television special challenges two teams to create an epic Thanksgiving feast. While each team has just four hours to create the winning holiday food celebration, there will be many ups, downs and holiday memories made throughout the competition.

According to the Food Network, two kitchens create a Thanksgiving party. While the food and recipes are always a focus of any holiday celebration, this competition is more than a flavorful bird. The teams must impress with themed décor and overall presentation.

While everyone will have to watch for all the details, it appears that the two themes are “Sicilian Tailgating” versus “New Orleans Luau.” Although those two themes seem to feature unlikely mash-ups, it could showcase the ultimate holiday food fusion. Sometimes there are more commonalities across cultures than people realize.

Battle of the Bird is just one of the many Thanksgiving food television specials coming to the Food Network. From the traditions at the White House to the numerous recipe inspired shows, the various Food Network chefs and culinary personalities will help even the most novice cook master that holiday dinner.
