After the bakers rolled the perfect yule log, Holiday Baking Championship Season 8 episode 3 asks a question that is staring to fill everyone’s mind. Who is grateful for another Thanksgiving pie?

According to the Food Network, Holiday Baking Championship Season 8 episode 3, “Attitude of Gratitude” features the following:

"In a holiday pantry raid, host Jesse Palmer throws open the cupboards and the Mason jars to ask the nine remaining bakers to create canned fruit desserts. In the main heat, judges Nancy Fuller, Duff Goldman and Carla Hall are in for a treat when the competitors create heartfelt messages on top of everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving dessert — pie! In the end, one baker goes home."

For the pre-heat challenge, canned fruit desserts are not an easy task. Since the bakers cannot control the flavors in the canned fruit, like the sugar or other ingredients, it can be difficult to create a balanced dessert flavor.

While many home cooks often turned to canned fruit for their desserts, this pre-heat challenge might be great reference for some creativity beyond the traditional pie. Why not turn those cherries into a trifle.

In the main heat, the Thanksgiving pie episode is always a favorite. Although there are few soggy bottoms in a Food Network challenge, the reality is that there are often a few errors along the way.

Given that the main heat requires that the bakers create a message on the pie, this challenge could prove to be quite difficult. Although Nancy wants that holiday vibe, that message of gratitude might need to be a little more abstract. Hopefully, no one tries to write a paragraph on that pie.

Although the Holiday Baking Championship season is still early, Adam is clearly the front runner. Every dessert has been a huge hit with the judges. It seems that he has found that holiday charm.

Given that this challenge focuses on pies, it could see a favorite fall. After all, an underbaked pie crust will definitely get a baker on that holiday naughty list.
