Ghostbusters Afterlife Cocktails shake up a touch of nostalgia

As many people make that call once again, these Ghostbusters Afterlife Cocktails are a touch of a blast from the past and a sip to new beginnings. Featuring Crystal Head vodka, Dan Aykroyd’s legendary brand, no one will be afraid of these cocktails. From a touch sweet to a little pungent, don’t be caught with an empty glass.

Themed cocktails can be a fun way to celebrate a movie release. Since Ghostbusters is an iconic franchise, it lends itself to many food and beverage collaborations. From classic beverages reappearing to even a marshmallow dessert, there are many ways to get your “ghost” on.

Many people are drawn to Crystal Head vodka for its clean, crisp taste. While delightful on its own, it is quite enjoyable in a cocktail.

In conjunction with the Ghostbusters Afterlife premiere, Crystal Head vodka created Ghostbusters Afterlife Cocktails. From a touch fruit to a little sweet, just remember to not to cross streams when enjoying cocktails.

Ghostbusters Afterlife Cocktails

Basil Melon Smash

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Crystal Head Vodka
  • 1⁄2 oz. Melon Liqueur
  • 3⁄4 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 2 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • 3 tsp. Lime Juice
  • 5 Basil Leaves

Directions:

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients and gently muddle. Add ice and shake vigorously. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a basil leaf.

Tip: Remember to slap the basil to release the oils. The herbal note makes the balances the sweet citrus.

Stay Puft

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Crystal Head Vodka
  • 1 tsp. Marshmallow Syrup
  • 4 Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 Marshmallow
  • Sprinkle of Sea Salt

Directions:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend. Pour into a glass. Garnish with a marshmallow and a sprinkle of sea salt.

Tip: The touch of sea salt brings out the sweetness in this cocktail. Just be judicious with the salt, too much will overpower the other flavors. Or, another option could be to torch the marshmallow a little. It can be a nice way to add another layer of flavor.

Slimer’s Revenge

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Crystal Head Onyx
  • 1 1⁄2 oz. Pineapple Juice
  • 3⁄4 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 3⁄4 oz. Honey Simple Syrup
  • 1 tsp. Matcha Powder
  • Fresh Mint Sprig

Directions:

  • Combine all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain over ice in a Collins glass. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.

Psychomagnotheric Sour

Ingredients

  • 1 1⁄2 oz. Crystal Head Aurora
  • 1 oz. Guava Juice
  • 1 oz. Pama Pomegranate Liqueur
  • 3⁄4 oz. Lime Juice
  • 1 Egg White
  • Lemon Peel

Directions:

  • Add egg white to a shaker without ice and shake for 30 seconds. Then combine the remaining ingredients into the shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain the contents into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon peel.

Tip: With egg-based cocktails, remember to shake vigorously. It is important to break down all egg. When done well, the frothy component is quite satisfying.

Gozer the Destroyer

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Crystal Head Onyx
  • 2 oz. Grapefruit Juice
  • 4 oz. Guava Gose Beer
  • 1⁄2 oz. Vanilla Syrup
  • 5-6 Fresh Basil Leaves

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and gently muddle. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Double strain into a Collins glass with a salted rim and ice. Garnish with a fresh basil crown.

Tip: If a Guava Gose Beer isn’t available, the cocktail could be made with another fruit flavored gose. But, it is best to follow the recipe as written.

Shapeshifter

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Crystal Head Aurora
  • 2 oz. Pineapple Juice
  • 2 oz. Red Cranberry Juice
  • 1 Egg White
  • 2-3 Pineapple Cubes
  • Pinch of Butterfly Pea Powder
  • Fresh Rosemary Sprig

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Remove ice and shake again for another 10 seconds. Double strain into a rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a torched fresh rosemary sprig.

The Mean Green Ghost

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Crystal Head Onyx
  • 1 oz. Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 1⁄2 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1⁄2 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 1⁄2 oz. Egg White

Directions:

  • Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake over ice for 10-15 seconds. Remove the ice and shake again for 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled Nick + Nora glass.
