From celebrity chefs like Ina Garten to debates around the family table, cilantro is a contentious food. Chipotle wants to turn those “soapy” descriptions into something merry and bright this season. Cilantro Soap has become a reality and it might be the best 2021 holiday gift.

According to Chipotle, between 4 to 14% of the population have the genetic predisposition to having cilantro taste like soap. While that herb can cause much food debate, it equally can bring a little humor, too. Who doesn’t remember the Chipotle meme from back in August 2021.

Now that joke has become a reality. Yes, you too can be lather up with some official Cilantro Soap. The item will be available on the Chipotle Goods website, while supplies last.

As Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer said, “Our Cilantro Soap plays into a larger trend of turning digital moments into real life experiences. Every Chipotle fan, regardless of which side of the great cilantro debate they’re on, can appreciate this fan-inspired gift.”

Sometimes the best food gifts are the ones served with a sprinkling of humor. From a scented candle to a bar of soap, a little humor can keep people more engaged with the food on their plate.

Even if a bar of the Cilantro Soap doesn’t end up under the tree, everyone can share their love of the controversial herb. Now through December 8, Chipotle Rewards members can earn a special herb badge. By ordering any menu item that features cilantro, the Cilantro Badge will be added to their account.

The new badge is part of the Chipotle Rewards “Extras.” While guac can be extra, this program helps guests “unlock” extra points. As users know, those points can reap free Chipotle rewards.

While dad might have gotten soap on a rope in his Christmas stocking, the Cilantro Soap might be the food gift that has everyone talking this holiday season. Will it be wrapped under your tree this year?
