Doritos Bowl returns with a Twitch competition at a whole new level
As Twitch Rivals set to compete in an epic showdown, the Doritos Bowl looks to taking the gaming competition up another notch. With $175,000 and a year’s supply of Doritos on the line, these teams stand at the ready. Who will be the ultimate champion and bring their team a victory?
Doritos is the Official Marketing Partner for Twitch Rivals North America and has sponsored the Doritos Bowl. Throughout the Series, the gamers have vied for the opportunity to showcase their skills. Now, on December 6, the battle royale is set to crown a champion.
While the outcome has yet to be determined, Twitch fans have even more reasons to get excited. The special event will give viewers something new. As gamers step out of their comfort zone and compete in games that are not necessarily their specialty, everyone will be engaged to see what new skills these players can bring to the console.
Since Doritos and Twitch fans have come to expect these “next level experiences,” the Doritos Bowl looked to go bigger for this round. As Caio Correa, senior director of marketing, Frito-Lay North America said, “We know creators tend to stick to the games and genres they know, so we’re bringing fans the opportunity to catch their favorite Twitch influencer playing a game they may not typically play. With over six hours of gameplay slated, this year’s Doritos Bowl is sure to deliver.”
Who is participating in the Doritos Bowl?
In this year’s event, the team captains, Swagg, itsHafu, lolTyler1 and iiTzTimmy, used the Doritos Disruptor Series to determine their teams. With the players set, the teams will battle each other in “Call of Duty: Warzone, Hearthstone, League of Legends, and Golf with your Friends and a surprise fifth game.”
This tournament is more than just showcasing skills in one particular niche. While certain gamers have proven their prowess in their genre, the teamwork and quick thinking will earn them the ultimate prize as champion.
As Timmy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An, said “Not everyone gets selected to take part in something as legendary as the Doritos Bowl, and to be named a captain is an honor. Doritos Disruptor Series was awesome to get to engage with the community, and I can’t wait to go head-to-head with people like Swagg and Tyler who I don’t get to go compete with every day in such a unique tournament. There’s no doubt the Doritos Bowl will keep me – and the fans – on their toes.”
The Doritos Bowl is set to air on Twitch Rivals starting at 12 p.m. PDT on December 6.
