Which Christmas cocktail is Santa’s top choice?
While milk and cookies might be a Christmas Eve tradition, a Christmas cocktail might be the “adult” choice to cap the holiday season. With all the wine advent calendars and beers chilling in the fridge, it might be time to toast to completing all the activities, chaos and fun. But, what is everyone enjoying in that cocktail glass?
During the holiday season, there are a few flavors and beverages that seem to be holiday classics. Warm, comforting, and satisfying are often adjectives that describe winter beverages. Even if these flavors fade before the hint of Valentine’s Day comes, many people cannot get enough of the winter favorites.
This Christmas cocktail is the hands down favorite.
Recently, e-conolight compiled what it found as the top five Christmas cocktails. Although surveys can produce very different findings, this list seems to cover all the flavors. From traditional to tropical, there is one commonality between them all. There is a taste of nostalgia in the glass.
While that elevated craft cocktail might be the star of the bar, it isn’t as common at home. Maybe people just prefer to keep the extra ingredients off the shelf.
Before revealing the top cocktail, the other four beverages are 5. Sidecar, 4 Christmas Margarita, 3 Whiskey Ginger and 2. White Russian. Looking at this list, it runs the gamut. From old-school cocktails, like the Sidecar to a seasonal twist on the tropical, Christmas margarita, it is good to see that not every beverage is sweet.
If people did not guess, the top Christmas cocktail is eggnog. It could be because it is only available during the winter season. Or, maybe people just like the taste. But, people cannot get enough eggnog.
At the same time, that eggnog can vary. From adding rum to whisky to even a liqueur, there are ways to change the flavors depending on the mood.
This holiday season, make sure to have some eggnog in the house. It might be the beverage that everyone will want to enjoy at least once during the holiday season.
