Instead of putting food on a don’t list, balance might be the better term to employ. At Cold Stone, the company has introduced a new treat to its menu for the first time ever. Instead of crying over the “can’t,” it is time to rejoice in the spoonful.

To kick off 2022, Cold Stone has partnered with Silk to offer Don’t Cry Over Spilled Silk. As the brand’s first ever plant-based frozen dessert, this new offering will have many people screaming for more. Ready to dig into this sweet creation?

As Sara Schmillen, vice president of marketing for Kahala Brands, parent company of Cold Stone Creamery shared. “We pride ourselves on our high flavor standards. It was important for us to innovate with an equally high quality.” Although this frozen treat has no dairy, the flavor offers a “true ice cream experience.”

According to Derek Neeley, vice president of marketing for Silk, Danone North America. “Cold Stone’s creativity and leadership in frozen desserts paired with our expertise in plant-based dairy alternatives and strong track record of delivering great taste and texture, is a powerful combination for bringing a delicious, plant-based dessert collaboration to frozen treat lovers across the country.”

What can people expect from the Cold Stone Don’t Cry Over Spilled Silk?

Made from Silk Chocolate Almondmilk frozen dessert, the chocolate flavor delivers the richness that people crave. While not overly sweet, it is still quite chocolate forward.

Mixed into the frozen dessert are banana, peanut butter and roasted almonds. The roasted almonds help to balance the sweetness. It is another layer of flavor to help round out the eating experience.

While the new promotion creation is just one option, the Silk Chocolate Almondmilk frozen dessert is part of the menu special menu. It appears that guests could ask to create their own treat with various mix-ins. Maybe some people would like to add some cookie pieces or strawberries to the bowl.

Overall, adding a non-dairy option to the menu is smart for Cold Stone. As more and more people look to have plant-based food choices, brands need to adapt. These types of collaborations will likely become more common.

Although chocolate is the first option, it seems to open the door to future collaborations. Could there be a whole plant-based section on the Cold Stone menu? Time will tell.

What do you think of the new Cold Stone flavor? Do you want to try a scoop?
