Modelo toasts College Football Fighting Spirit with free beer
As the Official Beer Sponsor of the College Football Playoff, Modelo appreciates that The Fighting Spirit brings together both the play on the field as well as the fan in the stand. From the cheers to the final score, the communal experience etches that memory for a lifetime. With the 2022 CFP National Championship set for January 10, it is time to both look forward and to commemorate the past. Isn’t that the perfect reason to raise a free beer?
While only two teams compete for the championship, college football fans can think of memorable moments in years past. Even if that alma mater wasn’t competing for the title, people can remember game winning passes, clutch defensive plays and an epic punt return that was one for the record books.
To commemorate the College Football Fighting Spirit, Modelo has partnered with Desmond Howard and is celebrating his 1991 punt return. On January 10, during the College Football National Championship, if “a punt is returned for a touchdown,” Modelo will reward “300 lucky college football fans free beer for the entire 2022 college football season.”
Commenting on their partnership, Howard understands the dedication that the players on the field represent as well as the enthusiasm that the fans have for the game. He appreciates that Modelo is recognizing both “these plays and the fans that fuel this sport.”
Greg Gallagher, Vice President of Brand Marketing, Modelo believes that “the tenacity and determination of these (College Football) programs embody the Fighting Spirit mentality.” While everyone awaits these pivotal moments of a game, it is important to celebrate that fighting spirit both on and off the field.
As part of the College Football Playoff experience, Modelo will offer special promotions throughout the championship weekend festivities in Indianapolis. In addition, fans can enter to win one of the 300 free beer for a season giveaway via social media. For more information, please visit ModeloSpecialRewards.dja.com.
