Spaceship Earth transforms into a Rainbow Connection for Festival of the Arts

During the annual EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, Disney Parks transforms the theme park with vibrant colors and a renewed sense of imagination. While many people were fixated on Figment popcorn buckets on opening weekend, another new element to EPCOT shined brightly and hit an emotional chord with many people. Spaceship Earth became a stunning Rainbow Connection.

As part of the 50th anniversary celebration, Disney Parks has illuminated many of its park icons in special ways. While fireworks can dance across the night sky, the choreographed light shows have more and more people looking with awe and wonder.

Unveiled on the opening night of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2022, Spaceship Earth was transformed into a vibrant display of cascading colors. Set to the tune of the Muppets “Rainbow Connection,” the visual display and the song seem to epitomize the spirit of this EPCOT Festival.

This annual festival tends to push the conversation forward. Whether it is the culinary delights that are not the typical food festival fare, the Disney on Broadway performances or the art decorating every path of the park, guests are reminded to see, not just blindly look.

While Disney World has long captured people’s sense of wonder and imagination, sometimes those sentiments need to be refreshed. Even though children might celebrate that idea of coloring outside of the lines, that sense of free expression can be dampened over the years. Although order can help calm chaos, throwing away creativity creates a less exciting world.

As guests visit the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts take a moment to see all the intricacies and celebrate those details around Disney Parks. Buy a dish that you that you’ve never had before, watch one of concerts and add a little color to the day.
