Krispy Kreme uses a free dozen doughnuts to help the American Red Cross
While the Krispy Kreme Red Hot Light is a beacon for food lovers, another red symbol has been a sign for help. The American Red Cross is always ready to support those in need, but the organization has a struggle in its midst. With this free dozen doughnuts promotion, the hope is that a little sweetness will encourage people to roll up their sleeves.
When Krispy Kreme makes an announcement, everyone listens. Usually, the newest tempting flavor is a reason to head to the restaurant for that delicious doughnut. Given that those treats are so tasty, the brand has come to appreciate that those cravings can do some good.
Previously, the brand offered free doughnuts for vaccinated customers. There have been various offers for teachers, first responders and more. This new promotion looks to help the American Red Cross.
Since January is National Blood Donor Month, Krispy Kreme is looking to help re-build the American Red Cross blood donation banks. After numerous tragedies and difficulties in having blood drives, the organization needs assistance.
To encourage people to support the American Red Cross, anyone “who donates blood or platelets Jan. 24 through 31 with a free Original Glazed dozen.” Although giving should come from the heart, a free dozen doughnuts are a treat that many people will appreciate.
As Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Chief Marketing Officer said, “We’re grateful for all that the American Red Cross does for our country and we want to help them. Hopefully a free Original Glazed dozen will increase awareness and even mobilize those who can give blood. We want them to enjoy the doughnuts with our thanks but also share the doughnuts while encouraging others to roll up their sleeves.”
Although many people will have commentary on both sides of the aisle, the reality is that this free dozen doughnuts promotion will have people talking about the need to fill the American Red Cross blood banks. If it can raise awareness of the situation then the free dozen promotion has done its job.
