While the pizza pizza phrase might make people’s stomachs grumble, the Little Caesars Batman Calzony will have people running to their local restaurant to get a taste. This themed version of the Crazy Calzone has taken flight. Just remember not to spill the Crazy Sauce.

Many brands look to bring a slice of pop culture into their new food offerings. With the highly anticipated The Batman movie approaching, many people want to fill their day with all things about the dark knight. This special menu offering could even have a few people switching their favorite pizza order just to get this bat-inspired pizza.

According to Jeff Klein, chief marketing officer at Little Caesars, this special offering is the “most delicious part” of the partnership. The idea is to bring “superhero vibes to pizza night” with The Batman Calzony.

While the visual conveys a sense of “batty-ness,” it is the flavor that will bring people back. According to Little Caesars, the “calzone crust filled with garlic white sauce, cheese, and julienned pepperoni, combined with a pepperoni pizza.” Served with a side of Crazy Sauce, the new special offering is priced at $7.99.

This special menu offering is version of the Crazy Calzony. That offering quickly became a huge hit with guests. Although this version is “bat-ified,” some people will order the menu item just for the taste.

Thinking about this special pizza, it is curious that there are not more pizza mashups. There have been various versions of a stuffed crust pizza and pizza toppings can cause a much debate. Still, why aren’t there more combinations of pizza types. While it seems unlikely that deep dish and thin crust could be combined in a single pie, pizza dough can be a vehicle for food creativity.

Even various shaped pizza could be possible for a variety of promotions. While kids have turned pizzas into smiley faces or even made designs with those toppings, why not shape the pizza dough. For brands who can find ways to innovate this space, there could be many promotional ideas that would drive consumers to make a special purchase.

For now, The Batman Calzony is available at Little Caesars. While it can be ordered at any time, the special offer is available without preordering from 4-8 p.m. at participating locations.
