Busch Light climbs to new heights with its Super Bowl commercial
While cracking open a can of Busch Light might be music to people’s ears, its new Super Bowl commercial might be the peak of smoothness. Although the lyrics might sound familiar, the notes will have everyone ready to head to the mountains again.
Recently, Busch Light has seen a surge in popularity. From that ice fishing beer to younger drinkers appreciating that clean, crisp taste, the classic beer is filling the fridge and the cooler.
As more people rediscover the beer, it has some people recalling that classic jingle. While some people might remember the concept of heading to the mountains to enjoy that beer, the retro vibe is getting a makeover for the big game.
According to Daniel Blake, Group VP, Budweiser & Value at Anheuser-Busch, “it’s cold and it’s smooth, and it’s waiting launched Busch Light’s jingle into the hearts and minds of beer fans” more than 40 years ago. While everyone loves a classic, Blake shared, the time came to revive that iconic jingle, there was only one person smooth enough for the job, American jazz saxophonist, and one of the best-selling artists of all time, Kenny G.”

As a Super Bowl commercial, this one is memorable. While everyone loves seeing celebrities in these commercials, it must fit to resonate. The smooth jazz from Kenny G might have some peaks and valleys in a song, but those high notes have people wanting more.
Plus, there is a little humor in the retro nod. Sure, some people might not want to hear the “I remember when” stories from the older generation, but this idea makes a smart connection. Just like enjoying a beer with friends, it is about finding the commonality without having anyone feel left out.
This version of “Head to the Mountains” seems to capture the spirit of the brand’s resurgence. Without losing its heritage, it easily fits into today’s beer drinking landscape. In a way, it is the beer that can be enjoyed anywhere and everywhere. From the mountain peak to the big game, it is beer where you can have one or a few with friends.
While ringing bells might bring angel wings, cracking open a Busch Light has the mountains singing. Regardless of the outcome of the big game, enjoying another beer will bring cheer.
What Super Bowl commercial do you think will be the best one? Do you only watch the commercials or are you excited about the game?
