A visit to Disney Parks is never complete without a Dole Whip. While Typhoon Lagoon offers a build your own option and there are various other seasonal twists, the truth is that the frozen pineapple treat is irresistible. And, this Chocolate Dole Whip recipe could be the flavor upgrade that has everyone asking for another serving.

Over the years, Dole has made a point of showcasing that healthy eating recipes are not only flavorful but easy to make. Combining just a few simple ingredients, including the freshest fruits and vegetables, will make a scrumptious dish.

As many people have learned, the classic Dole Whip recipe is one of those dishes. Even though it can be enjoyed at home, instead of in the shadows of the castle, there is a little magic in every spoonful. But, if someone would prefer to skip the tropical flavor for something richer, the swap isn’t too far from reach.

Recently, Dole shared its Dark Chocolate Dole Whip recipe. Whether it is a romantic evening for two or a family dinner with a little heartfelt twist, this recipe will have everyone feeling the love.

Here’s how to make Dark Chocolate Dole Whip.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe DOLE Bananas, peeled, cut crosswise into thirds and frozen
  • 2 cups chopped DOLE® Pineapple, frozen
  • ¼ cup gluten free and vegan dark chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons gluten free powdered sugar
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • DOLE® Blueberries and/or Raspberries for serving (optional)

Directions

  • Purée bananas, pineapple, chocolate chips, cocoa powder and sugar in a high-powered blender on high until smooth; with blender running, slowly add milk. Makes about 3½ cups.
  • Divide banana mixture into 4 bowls; top with blueberries and/or raspberries, if desired.

Since there are variations on the classic Dole Whip, why not borrow an idea from the Disney Parks chefs. Consider swirling two flavors together. Whether raspberry or pineapple, that combination of fruity and chocolate is delicious.

Even though this recipe is a treat, it shows that balanced eating doesn’t have to mean that all sweet treats are off the table. It is about finding a dish that satisfies the sweet tooth yet doesn’t go too far off the path.

Dole’s culinary team has proven that concept time and again. Since fruit is full of sweetness, it can serve as the ingredient to satisfy that craving. It is about serving a little creativity with that indulgence.
