As the cooks battle for a spot in the better kitchens, Next Level Chef episode 9 might be filled with muddled flavors and confused plates. With this episode’s theme focusing on global fusion, the cooks might be wishing that they only had one stamp in their food passport.

According to FOX, Next Level Chef episode 9, “Fusion Confusion” features the following:

"Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais challenge their teams to create a fusion dish! Based on their past performance, each contestant is assigned to a kitchen where they will need to prove that they can create magic in any environment, even when the odds are stacked against them. The best dishes will keep contestants safe from elimination, while one contestant will be sent home with their dreams up in flames in the all-new “Fusion Confusion” episode of NEXT LEVEL CHEF airing Wednesday, Feb. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

With all the cooks placed in their respective kitchens, it will be interesting to see if the bottom cooks take more chances to move higher. Although everyone has to execute good dishes, the reality is that lower ranked cooks need to do something to stand out.

This theme of global fusion is hard. It will probably come down to the ingredient grab. The cooks who see the dish and grab the best ingredients should do well. Of course, they have to execute, but that vision will help one person stand out.

Looking at some preview clips, there seems to be a few misses in this episode. Watching Gordon Ramsay spit out food is definitely not a good sign. Wonder what two cuisines made that wrong bite.

So far, it is clear that a few cooks are favorites. While it isn’t a predetermined conclusion that a former Team Gordon member will win, but the possibility is clear.

At the same time, a few top contenders have fallen quickly. Since every dish must be well-executed, a small mistake can cause a quick departure.

Which cooks will rise to the occasion and wipe away any of that food confusion? Be sure to watch Next Level Chef episode 9 on FOX, Wednesday night at 9 p.m.
