Many people dream of standing center stage, bathed in the spotlight hearing the cheers from the audience. While some people have achieved that moment, others long for that glimpse into the stardom. With the new Pepsi Becoming a Popstar, this new music competition looks to reveal that multi-talented performer who is ready for crowning achievement.

According to Pepsi, it is partnering with MTV and TikTok to launch this new music competition. Although there may be many music-centered shows, this one looks to find a star who epitomizes a multi-faceted talent. It is more than just perfect pitch or stage presence. It is the one person who seemingly can do it.

The contestants on Pepsi Becoming a Popstar have been pulled from TikTok. These eight artists have used the popular social media platform to showcase their voice and now it is time to evolve from the screen to the big stage.

Through a series of challenges, the one performer will emerge as the grand prize winner. While winning does not guarantee instant fame, the opportunity is once in a lifetime.

As Todd Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing, Pepsi, said, “Pepsi has an incredible legacy in music, having worked with a range of talent over the years, and one thing we have consistently heard from artists is how Pepsi played a key role in their journey as they went from star to pop icon.” Kaplan goes on to explain that this accelerated artistic journey is beyond what people have seen before. From the opportunity given to the contestants to the fans watching, Pepsi Becoming a Popstar could change the music landscape.

In addition, viewers are looking to make that connection with an upcoming artist. While it might sound cliché, music is the soundtrack to people’s lives. It is all about finding that sound that can bring an emotion, recall a memory or just make someone smile. The best artists capture that idea better than anyone else.

Joining Pepsi Becoming a Popstar are panel of superstars including, Joe Jonas, Becky G and Sean Bankhead. As part of the competition, the winner will receive their own Pepsi commercial that will air during the MTV VMAs.

Pepsi Becoming a Popstar will air on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT. It premieres on Thursday, March 24 and there are five episodes.
