Pepsi scores with its new campaign Play to Inspire

While many people might know that iconic “goal” call, the impressive play on the pitch is more than just one momentous score. Pepsi has just revealed its new “Play to Inspire” campaign and many soccer fans are ready to take it to the next level.

The campaign, Play to Inspire or Juega para Inspirar, is a celebration of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League tournament. While global legends from around the world will be featured ,it is more than just the celebration of the soccer superstars. It is a way for fans to engage with the sport that they love. There is a moment where the dream can become reality.

According to Esperanza Teasdale, Vice President and General Manager – PepsiCo. “From all-star global talent to up and comers, this campaign combines the global thrill and community-feel of the soccer experience to celebrate the sport and its fans. We’re thrilled to bring the buzz here stateside with ‘Chicharito’ and look forward to engaging fans all tournament long.”

In the U.S. campaign, Javier Hernandez “Chicharito” brings a little levity to the ultimate soccer fans. Although not everyone can justify putting that out of office reply on repeat, there is something to be said about take a break from the grind and enjoying the game that connects people.

This campaign is another example how Pepsi looks to create a sense of community. Whether it is the cola beverage fan that knows the iconic blue can goes with everything or the sports fans who is the extremely loyal to their team, that sense of togetherness is strengthened through the commonality.

While there are light hearted moments as part of this campaign, the quest to inspire others should be applauded. Even though few people will achieve the greatness of some of these soccer starts, everyone can be the best that they can be. Learning to dream big and strive for better is a concept that everyone can appreciate.
