With plant-based food becoming a mainstay on store shelves, many favorite food choices have been transformed. From beverages to dinner, the vegetarian options are no longer a limited menu. With the new Beyond Meat Jerky, a hearty, satisfying snack is part of the conversation.

Thinking about plant-based food choices, it is more than just focusing on a singular lifestyle choice. While the food world might be full of labels, the reality is that many people prefer to live somewhere in the middle. Enjoying a bounty of options can lead to more enjoyment.

As the first joint collaboration between Beyond Meat and PepsiCo, the Beyond Meat Jerky is a plant-based snack that captures the texture and flavors of a traditional meat jerky but in a plant-based food option. While some people might not have thought this food was possible, that first taste is one that could change many people’s perception of both plant-based food and protein focused snacks.

Specifically, Dan Moisan, CEO of Planet Partnership said, “The nationwide launch of Beyond Meat Jerky will make plant-based meat accessible to millions of households. It tastes great, it’s a good source of protein, and it’s convenient to eat whether you’re on the go, at the office or out on adventures.”

According to the plant based brand, the Beyond Meat Jerky comes in three flavors, Original, Hot & Spicy, and Teriyaki. The food is created by marinating the ingredients and slow roasting it. That method looks to give both the flavor and texture of a tradition meat based jerky.

Like other jerky offerings, this one is a great source of protein. With 10g of protein per serving and no cholesterol, the snack seems to be quite satisfying. And, the whole bite is created with plant-based ingredients, including peas and mung beans.

As the Beyond Meat Jerky hits store shelves, it is definitely worth a taste. Whether people make a total switch or an occasional swap, this plant-based food option deserves to be part of the conversation.
