Tournament of Champions Season 3 episode 6: Sudden death?
While the first set of Round of 16 battles might not have produced big upsets, Tournament of Champions Season 3 episode 6 might not be that predictable. Could there be some chaos seasoning these food battles?
According to Food Network, Tournament of Champions Season 3 episode 6, “The Super 16 Sudden Death” features the following:
"Guy Fieri welcomes eight more Super 16 chefs to face off against each other in sudden death battles. Four winning chefs will move on to the Great Eight round, and four will be sent packing."
Whittling the competition down to the Great Eight round is not an easy task. While even some great chefs can have mis-steps, the reality is that no one wants to lose. It is about putting the best plate of food against another delicious dish. The high scores in each round prove that these chefs are pushing themselves.
In the first Round of 16 battles, the randomizer was almost kind to the chefs. From flavor combinations that go together to ample time to plate the dish, this round seemed to lack tremendous curve balls. Even though the chefs showcased that creativity, it wasn’t like they had to put together flavors that didn’t go together.
At the same time, it wasn’t completely a gift. The kitchen equipment has been the outlier. The chefs need some credit for using the carbonator in a soup. Even if the bubbles were subtle, it was an attempt.
That kitchen equipment has been the most unusual part of the whole competition. Although some of the items aren’t found in a professional kitchen, it is a good conversation for the home cook. Maybe that kitchen holiday purchase will no longer collect dust in the cabinet.
Looking ahead at these Round of 16 battles, it will be interesting to see if an underdog can emerge. Sure, everyone likes Brooke Williamson, but could one of the lower seeds make a run to the finale? Given the unpredictability of Tournament of Champions, anything is and could be possible.
