From the pump to the grocery store to everywhere in between, the bank account has been feeling the impact of inflation. While some people may not want to head back to that economics class, everyone can appreciate that everything is costing more money. Krispy Kreme wants to step away from the high spending and step into a sweeter deal.

In a recent company announcement, the iconic doughnut company is lowering the price of its Original Glaze for the next four Wednesdays. It looks like Wednesday might no longer be hump day but instead it can be doughnut day.

According the company press release, it will be offering a dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts of the price of a gallon of gas. Although there is pain at the pump, getting 12 doughnuts for the cost of the “national average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the United States on the Monday at the beginning of the week” is pretty sweet.

As Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena said, “While Americans deal with the rising PPG – price per gallon – of gasoline, we’re lowering our PPOG – price per Original Glaze. Inflation and high gasoline prices are serious and forcing families to make tough tradeoffs. We know that despite the high gas prices people have to be out and about anyway. So, for the next several Wednesdays, we hope providing a little doughnut deflation will allow them to share some smiles during a difficult time. A dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts for the price of a gallon of gas will help our fans make midweek a little sweeter for their friends and family.”

This offer is yet another example of Krispy Kreme trying to bring smiles and little tastes of happiness to people. While a doughnut might not solve the world’s problems, it can make the day a little brighter.

To take advantage of this offer, guests order the Original Glazed Dozen in stores, online or via the app. The offer is available while supplies last on Wednesday from April 13 through May 4. The weekly price can fluctuate and the company will announce the weekly price via social media.
