People are obsessing over Subway’s Sweet Onion Steak Teriyaki
While the Subway Vault Menu might feature some famous names’ favorite subs, everyone seems to have a preferred order when they want to eat fresh. Even if there is a little variety week to week, a few flavors tend to call. Now, one of those favorites has been transformed into a hearty bite with the Sweet Onion Steak Teriyaki.
Certain food combinations just satisfy. The combination of sweet and savory seems to appeal to many. It is almost like the yin and yang of food.
One of the reasons why people love the Sweet Onion Teriyaki is the layers of flavor. The combination of soy, garlic, sesame and black pepper on a protein just works. When piled high with crunchy vegetables, it seems to satisfy even more.
While the chicken version of this sub has been a fan favorite, some people wanted more. Even though there are some people who subscribe to the notion of eating more chicken, others prefer beef. Subway was listening and now has put that option on the menu.
According to Chef Paul Fabre, senior vice president of culinary and innovation at Subway, “The new Sweet Onion Steak Teriyaki is the long-awaited sequel our fans have been waiting for, giving them a chance to try a fresh take on one of our most craved flavors. This cult-classic refresh takes the Sweet Onion flavor our guests love to the next level by pairing it with juicy, succulent, steak on this mouthwatering sandwich.”
This latest offering continues the Eat Fresh Refresh conversation. While Subway has looked to reinvigorate interest in its quick service restaurant, it appreciates that it cannot stray too far from what people have come to expect. That blend of familiar yet innovative will bring customers through the door.
According to a company statement, this evolution of a Subway classic sub is not the last one on the agenda. Even though nothing has been revealed, it appears that more announcements from the brand will be coming.
