There is another reason to eat more chicken. As quick service restaurants continue to expand their chicken offerings, the new Wingstop chicken sandwich offers the variety that people crave. Instead of just one flavor, there are 11 options on the menu. Isn’t variety the spice of life?

While some quick service restaurants entice guests with spicy chicken flavors or limited time menu items, Wingstop looks to captivate customers with its flavors. The expansive sauce menu is what sets the restaurant brand apart. For the guest who wants spicy one day and sweet the next, the various sauces satisfy.

According to Wingstop, the hand-tossed and sauce chicken sandwich will be available in any of its 11 sauce flavors. It will be served on a buttery toasted bun and served with pickles. It is a simple sandwich, but the focus is on the sauce flavors.

It is interesting that the pickles accompany the sandwich. While many people cannot get enough pickles, that briny flavor might not be the most obvious pairing for all the flavors. It might be interesting to see how the flavor combinations play out.

For this new menu item, Wingstop is doing a limited time, limited location launch. According to the brand, it will be available at “60 restaurants across Columbus, OH; Fresno, CA; Las Vegas, NV; and Orlando, FL.” Looking at the locations, they should offer diverse crowd-sourcing. It will be interesting to see the feedback from the trial run.

While Wingstop might have come later to the chicken sandwich conversation, it is important for the brand to have this option on the menu. Sometimes people do not want to eat either bone-in or boneless wings. There is something to be said about having meat sandwiched between two buns.

The key to Wingstop being successful with this new menu offering is the variety. No other quick service restaurant has the multiple sauce options. Even if the sandwich could use another condiment or ingredient, it is those favorite sauces that will bring people back for another bite.

The Wingstop chicken sandwich is priced at $5.49 for just the sandwich. A combo, including  fries, a drink and a dip is $7.99.
