What is the Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Soft Serve Ice Cream?

To kick off the official start of summer, 10 select markets will offer the Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Soft Serve Ice Cream. As the name suggests, the special ice cream tastes just like those Original Glazed doughnuts.

According to Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Chief Marketing Officer, “Our fans love Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and they also love rich, creamy, ice cream. We’re confident their love of ice cream and for Krispy Kreme is going to go to an entirely new level after they experience these deliciously unique shakes, cones and cups. We’re thrilled to begin our rollout on the first day of summer.”

Available in shakes, cones and cups, the new ice cream is inspired by the secret Original Glazed Doughnut recipe. Using real whole milk and that iconic glaze flavor, it transforms that taste into a spoonable version. For anyone who prefers to avoid sticky fingers but cannot resist that taste, this dessert is a must try.

The new Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Soft Serve Ice Cream will be featured in shakes, cups and waffle cones. The shake flavors include “Original Glazed, Strawberry Iced Sprinkled, Chocolate Iced, Lemon Filled®, Cookies & KREME, Birthday Batter, and Coffee & KREME.” The cups and waffles cones include Original Glazed, Strawberry Iced Sprinkled and Chocolate Iced. Additionally, Original Glazed doughnut pieces can be added.

While everyone will have a favorite choice, it is interesting that there is no doughnut ice cream sandwich. Maybe people can just make their own. Simply purchase a cup and some doughnuts.

Thinking about this offering, it is about transforming those favorite doughnuts into another dessert. It is a smart choice for Krispy Kreme. Even though coffee and doughnuts might be an all day treat, the dessert addition brings people back for a second visit later in the day.

Kicking off this new product on the first day of summer is smart. With extra daylight and warmer weather, who doesn’t want a little treat to make the day a little sweeter. But, with the hotter temperatures, make sure to have a few napkins on hand. Melted ice cream on your shirt is never a good look.

The new Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Soft Serve Ice Cream will be available at the following locations: “Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston-Salem in North Carolina; Greenville, S.C.; Norfolk and Newport News, Va.; Charleston, W.Va.; Nashville and the Tri-Cities area in Tennessee, and San Antonio, Texas. Krispy Kreme shops in Mobile and Southwest, Ala.; Tampa, St. Petersburg and Pensacola, Fla.; New Orleans; Branson, Mo.; and Wichita, Kan., will soon begin offering Original Glazed Soft Serve.” For more information on this new offering and updates, please visit www.krispykreme.com/promos/icecream.
