Krispy Kreme brings the July 4th love with I Heart America doughnuts

While the barbecue might be lit and everyone is waiting for the fireworks in the night sky, Krispy Kreme will be raining hearts all over the celebration with its new July 4th offering. The I Heart America doughnuts definitely bring the love to the dozen. Doesn’t everyone need a little extra heart to share?

Like many celebrations this summer, people are enjoying spending time with friends and family. After too many missed occasions, this summer has been about enjoying the moment together. Even that impromptu dinner with neighbors just feels special.

As Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme, these new July 4th doughnuts are about “putting heart into the homeland.” Adding, “Now, perhaps more than ever, Americans can appreciate simple acts of celebrating together. And when it comes to the Fourth of July, it’s been quite a while since we’ve been able to gather and celebrate our love of America in traditional ways.”

Even though people want to celebrate, cost impacts shoppers’ decisions. Krispy Kreme doesn’t want the dollars spent to dampen the holiday. From June 27 through July 4, guests who wear red, white and blue to participating locations can receive a free doughnut. They can choose any doughnut from the bakery case.

In addition, from July 1 through July 4, guests can get a free Original Glazed dozen with a purchase of a regular dozen. Remember, doughnuts make great desserts at a barbecue. They do not have to be served just at breakfast.

What are the I Heart America doughnuts for the Krispy Kreme July 4th celebration?

This year, the special heart themed July 4th doughnuts are Soaring Firework Heart, Patriotic Cookies & Kreme Heart, Stars & Stripes Heart and Star Spangled Sprinkle. Each one combines favorite flavors with the patriotic imagery. Also, the specialty doughnuts are boxed in a special limited edition box.

For Krispy Kreme fans who love a filled doughnut, the Soaring Firework Heart features Strawberries and Kreme. While it might not be that Strawberry Short Cake Doughnuts from the most recent limited edition offering, it is a must order for strawberry fans.

The kids will ask for seconds of the Patriotic Cookies & Kreme Heart. Filled with Cookies & Kreme and topped with cookie and icing drizzle, it is a celebration of that classic flavor combination. Why just have cookies when you can have that flavor in a doughnut.

Sometimes classic flavors deserve their moment to spark. The Stars & Striped Heart is filled with the classic Kreme. The nod to the flag is clear with the decoration. It will have doughnut fans bursting with patriotic pride when these doughnuts arrive on the table.

Lastly, the Star Spangled Sprinkle is the perfect option for someone who loves the Original Glazed. Decorated with red, white and blue, it captures the July 4th perfectly.

The I Heart America doughnuts are available from June 27 through July 4th at participating locations, while supplies last. In addition, guests can still get a free Original Glazed doughnut through June when the Red Hot Light is illuminated.
