While many people have devoured a dozen or two pumpkin spice doughnuts, the iconic red light is shining for another reason on August 26. In honor of National Dog Day, it is time to celebrate your favorite furry friend with Krispy Kreme Doggie Doughnuts. This special treat will get tails wagging.

For the first time ever, Krispy Kreme will be offering baked dog treats in a six-count box. The doggie treats are shaped like a doughnut.

The Krispy Kreme Doggie Doughnuts will be available on National Dog Day, August 26 while supplies last. The special treats can be purchased in shops as well as from the drive-thru.

As Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme said, “Our dogs have given us so much love and comfort to help us through these last couple of years. They deserve this special treat. On National Dog Day this Friday, give your furry friend something pawsome.”

While the Krispy Kreme glaze waterfall brings the sweetness to its iconic Original Glazed Doughnuts, these Doggie Doughnuts are from Huds and Toke. The Australian-based artisan baked pet treat company has created a hard-baked cookie which will look like a doughnut. While these treats are a snack, it is one that dogs of any size and age will want to enjoy. Similar to people eating doughnuts, a treat or two is ok but no one needs to eat a dozen as a meal.

This special offering from Krispy Kreme could spark a new conversation for the popular brand. While it has offered a wide variety of specials for holidays, graduations and other special occasions, including the four-legged family members could be a game changer. Given how many dog parents pamper those pets, this idea could expand beyond National Dog Day. Just think of the holiday combinations.

For now, give your favorite four-legged family member a treat this Friday. Krispy Kreme Doggie Doughnuts are waiting, and that Red Hot Light is showing the way.
