Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 episode 8: One on one showdown for the win

While Hell’s Kitchen Battle of the Ages has had some ups and downs, the second half of the season looks to light a fire under these chefs. Although it seems impossible to pick a front runner, the drama might start to boil over soon. In Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 episode 8, the individual chefs are looking to stake their claim on that title. Could a black jacket be in their reach?

According to FOX, Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 episode 8, “Game On!” features the following:

"The chefs step up to compete one-on-one in an ingredient game show. Contestants who win can either choose the fate of that ingredient or sabotage the other team. James Beard Award-winning chefs of “Jon & Vinny’s” John Shook and Vinny Dotolo join Gordon in the dining room to taste the final dishes in the all-new “Game On!” episode of Hell’s Kitchen."

Although this synopsis does not reveal any clues about the specific ingredients, the statement leads people to believe that the competition might take a personal turn. While everyone would like to have the best chefs battle to the end, Hell’s Kitchen is a competition. Taking out the weak link is part of the game. Even if these chefs are part of a kitchen brigade, the reality is that there is only one winner.

Over the past couple of episodes, chefs’ inconsistencies have come into play. While personalities are constantly in conflict, there has not been one chef who just shines above the rest. From under cooked proteins to timing mis-steps, it is time for one chef to step up and lead. It might make them a target, but it is better than just being mediocre.

Although this season was billed as Battle of the Ages, there is only one older woman chef left standing. Whether that situation is circumstances or a bigger commentary on some chefs unwillingness to be more vocal remains to be seen. Maybe Battle of the Ages has already made a decree before the winner is crowned on the Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 finale.
