Bacon Cake is the ultimate sweet celebration of bacon

While many people subscribe to the idea that everything is better with bacon, this limited-edition Bacon Cake might be the ultimate indulgence. Created to celebrate Wright Brand’s 100th Anniversary, many people will be clamoring for that first slice.

As Cal Tharp, senior brand manager for Wright Brand bacon said, “Turning 100 is a major milestone and we wanted to do something big to close out our year-long celebration. We kicked off our anniversary by launching a bacon-inspired fragrance and later in the year took over the town where the brand was founded, Vernon, Texas, with a one-day bacon festival. The only thing missing was the cake! We wanted to give people a way to celebrate our centennial with us in a way that feels distinctly Wright Brand.”

What is this Bacon Cake and how can people get a slice?

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Wright Brand partnered with celebrated Darnell Reed, chef and owner of Chicago-based Luella’s Southern Kitchen to create this Bacon Cake. Anyone who is familiar with Chef Reed knows that he has a deft hand at bringing together Southern classics with some creative flare.

This dessert offering is huge and tops the scale at four pounds. According to the brand, it features layers of “cheddar scallion cornbread, sandwiched together with a sweet corn bacon filling.” The multilayered cake is topped with salted hot honey cream cheese bacon spread and Wright Brand bacon. Plus, the bacon roses are a lovely touch.
