After being on a holiday break, Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 episode 10 returns with a little extra heat in the kitchen. Although the chefs might have been dreaming about the black jackets, another culinary challenge awaits for the final nine chefs. Who has the sizzle to bring the flavor to taco night?

While there have been highs and lows in Hell’s Kitchen Season 21, the nine remaining chefs have a tall task to tackle in episode 10. Even though mastering risotto and impressing with a perfectly seared scallop might be part of dinner service, the special challenges are where the chefs catch Gordon Ramsay’s attention. In this episode, they will not only have to impress Gordon but also Danny Trejo.

According to FOX, Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 episode 10, “Everyone’s Taco’ing About It” features the following:

"The final 9 chefs are put to the test creating elevated tacos with various proteins. Actor turned restauranteur, Danny Trejo joins Gordon to judge each of the tacos. Who will make the ultimate taco and impress the taco connoisseur in the all-new “Everyone’s Taco’ing About It” episode of Hell’s Kitchen airing Thursday, Jan. 5 (8:00-9:02 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

While a taco might seem straightforward, it is far from simple. Packed into that one bite needs to be layers of flavors. Serving these two culinary legends a piece of carne asada on a tortilla is not going to earn any type of praise.

FOX provided FoodSided with this Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 episode 10 exclusive clip ahead of Thursday night’s episode.

While the clip is quite short, there are many clues to discover. Putting aside the banter, this taco challenge could further separate the top and bottom chefs. This challenge is about shining as an individual. Counting on someone to turn those tomatillos might not be a wise decision.

Although each of these chefs have great talent, it will be interesting to see who will make the “ultimate taco.” This challenge is not just about pushing the flavor elements without care. Creativity is key, but execution cannot be forgotten. An undercooked protein or extreme spice will not pass muster in this challenge.

Impressing Gordon is hard, but Danny Trejo knows about a great taco. The Trejos Tacos founder may want to see some authentic flavors mixed with culinary innovation. Creative techniques could push one taco to the top of the list.

Which chef will have the flavors that everyone will be taco’ing about? Be sure to watch Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 episode 10 on Thursday, January 5 at 8 p.m. This week, it’s Taco Thursday for the win.
