While Arby’s says that “we have the meats,” the popular quick service restaurant has never shied away from going bigger, bolder with its sandwiches. With its latest menu addition, the Steakhouse Garlic Ribeye Sandwich, the flavor might be better than the local gastropub.

Looking at Arby’s recent offerings, the brand has made a conscious effort to be more than just any sandwich. From the fiery Diablo offerings to the unique bourbon collaboration that paired with its smoked meat offerings, the brand appreciates that a quick service restaurant needs to bring the flavor. Even though there is convenience in the bag, the bite can never be boring.

With the new Arby’s Steakhouse Garlic Ribeye Sandwich, the menu item features real 100% ribeye. Although the sandwich might not exactly be the same as the butcher shop, the steak cut brings a more robust flavor to the sandwich. The reasoning is simple. A ribeye steak generally has more marbling, which makes it more flavorful. Anyone who has cut into a ribeye versus another cut of steak can appreciate the difference.

While the cut of meat matters, it is the complete bite that makes this particular sandwich so enjoyable. As any cook knows, meat needs to be seasoned. Arby’s seasons the meat with traditional steakhouse flavors. The combination of garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper are quite tasty. Even on its own, the sandwich is enjoyable.

The bigger enjoyment comes from the toppings. Paired with Swiss cheese, the slightly pungent cheese offsets the richness of the ribeye. Then topped with crispy onions for texture, it is quite delightful. Plus, the garlic aioli brings it all together, similar to a dollop of garlic butter on a steak.

The new Arby’s Steakhouse Garlic Ribeye Sandwich is available at participating restaurants. It is unclear how long this menu item will be available.
