Hostess has a plethora of iconic snacking brands. From the beloved Twinkie to the always popular cupcakes, the sweet treats always bring smiles around the table. While these favorite brands will always have a place in the pantry, Hostess Brands appreciates that food innovation needs to be conversation. The new Hostess Kazbars are the multitextured snacks that everyone will want to enjoy.

When a craving hits, it can be more than just longing for something sweet or salty. Often, the eating enjoyment satisfaction comes because there is a contrast of texture. The crunchy against soft makes for total enjoyment.

The new Hostess Kazbars are described as a candy bar inspired innovation. Although this idea is not stuffing a candy bar inside of a cake, it is a layered approach to the treat. While there are many snack cakes on the shelf, the idea of adding texture to the sweetness has appeal.

As Christopher Balach, general manager of Hostess Brands, LLC said, “We know that consumers are craving multitextured snacks – and the variety of creamy, crunchy and rich layers in our new Kazbars will make every snacking experience a more joy-filled one. This new kind of snack delivers the familiar, moist Hostess cake consumers know and love with a new, delicious fusion of layers and textures. The snack has performed strongly with consumers throughout product-testing and we’re excited to see that translate in the marketplace.”

The new Hostess Kazbars are available in two flavors, Chocolate Caramel and Triple Chocolate. The layered snack cake features chocolate cake, crème, and candy crunch with either a caramel layer or chocolate fudge.

The key to this snack cake is the candy crunch layer. Similar to how some candy bars have a cereal or a nut texture component, this idea builds on that but in a bigger way. In the dessert world, more and more bakers are incorporating the layers in their recipes. Anyone who watching Food Network baking shows can appreciate that concept.

Although everyone will have their preference, the Chocolate Caramel should be the big hit. While this flavor combination could have gotten a bigger boost from a little sea salt flake on top, it should satisfy all the cravings.

The new Hostess Kazbars will be sold in boxes of 8-individually wrapped snack cakes as well as sold individually. The product should hit stores in mid-March. Prices may vary.
