While many people start their day with a Dunkin run, the popular food brand might have some people skipping that donut for a savory choice. With the new Dunkin Breakfast Tacos, that grab and go bite keeps people moving.

Over the past several years, Dunkin has expanded its savory menu items. From the snacking bacon to breakfast sandwiches, some people prefer a less sweet start to their day. While some of these items might be classic breakfast foods, the food choices can be enjoyed any time of day. From that mid-afternoon snack to breakfast for dinner, just like coffee is not tied to the clock, neither is breakfast food.

Speaking to the new Dunkin Breakfast Tacos, Jill McVicar Nelson, Dunkin’s Chief Marketing Officer said, “Our culinary team has expertly crafted these Breakfast Tacos with the vibrancy of Spring in mind, delivering a taste sensation that can be enjoyed any time of the day – not just for breakfast. These tacos are undoubtedly one of the tastiest savory items we’ve launched at Dunkin’. We’re thrilled for guests to try them and discover their new favorite meal to fuel their day, whether they’re looking for a delicious breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack.”

Served individually, the Dunkin Breakfast Tacos feature “scrambled eggs, melted sharp white cheddar cheese, fire-roasted corn, and a drizzle of tangy lime crema.” In addition, crumbled bacon can be added to the breakfast tacos.

While many food brands have breakfast tacos and breakfast burritos, people appreciate that ingredients and flavors make a difference. With the Dunkin offering, it is the fire-roasted corn and lime crema that set it apart from the crowd. The slight char on the corn should add another flavor layer to contrast the brightness of the lime crema. In some ways, the hot sauce or that salsa can be left in the bottle.

In addition, it is interesting that Dunkin chose not to put bacon or sausage at the center of this new breakfast offering. While bacon can be added, it does not need that unctuous ingredient to make the bite enjoyable.

Although the new menu launch is just one flavor, it will be interesting to see if Dunkin expands the breakfast taco options. From plant-based food offerings to maybe some extra veggies, there are plenty of ways to evolve this menu offering.
