Blueberry Pomegranate Lemonade raises Wendy’s beverage game
While some people equate Wendy’s with the Frosty, the popular quick service restaurant has more than one beverage that fills those cups. Although many restaurants offer a wide array of carbonated sodas, some people would prefer a different thirst quencher. With the addition of the new Blueberry Pomegranate Lemonade, Wendy’s once again raises its beverage game.
Over the year’s Wendy’s food innovation has taken different turns. While many people have raved over the recent Frosty flavor additions, those seasonal options can be more of a sweet ending to a meal. For a beverage pairing with a meal, many people turn to Wendy’s lemonade as a flavorful alternative.
During a recent media call, John Li, Vice President of Culinary Innovation commented about the new Blueberry Pomegranate Lemonade saying, “With the sweet blueberry and tarte tang of the pomegranate, this addition completes our strongest lineup of Dave’s Craft lemonade yet!”
While that emphatic endorsement is telling, it is a continuation of what Wendy’s did when it first launched its lemonade. Like everything on the menu, it is about better ingredients to create a better product.
From real fruit purees to lemons picked at the peak of the season, those choices make a big difference in the flavor. It might not necessarily be the lemonade that is purchased at the county fair, but it evokes that drinking experience.
Emily Kessler, Manager of Culinary Innovation describes the beverage as “Our ripe and juicy blueberries paired with the tarte and bright pomegranate makes for a beautiful color and even better flavor. It’s like summer in cup!” While the sweet and tart flavors make it a delightful pairing with the new Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap, Cobb Salad or almost anything on the Wendy’s menu, it is more than just flavor drive.
The visual is equally as enticing. The vibrant color excites guests to take that first sip. And, it will also have them going back for more.
The new Blueberry Pomegranate Lemonade rolls out on March 28 at participating restaurants. It is part of the Spring Menu launch.
