Pizza Hut transforms an iconic restaurant item into must have food fashion

Food fashion has taken over people’s closets. From shirts to shoes, people are excited to showcase their passion for a slice, a topping, or just their preferred dinner option. Pizza Hut, in collaboration with Chain, has just revealed the next must have food fashion accessory, the Hut Hat. Ready to flip your lid?

Over the years, Pizza Hut has offered special, limited edition items. From starting that pizza love with baby gear to setting the table with those items that people remember from back in the day, the beloved pizza brand understands that the connection to the slice extends beyond meal time.

One image that has been associated with those Friday night meals at the local restaurant is the lighting above the table. Even though more people might get take out today, shining a light on the image from the past makes people smile. That checkered board design featured in the lamps can only be one pizza brand. Now, it has another application, the bucket hat.

In collaboration with Chain, a new Hut Hat is a reversible hat that features both the pattern from that lamp and the iconic red roof. No matter which side is worn first, both looks will get people hungry to place an order for that Big New Yorker.

According to Lindsay Morgan, chief marketing officer at Pizza Hut, “Pizza Hut and Chain are a perfect match. We both love modern twists on icons whether its great tasting pizza or fashion and can’t wait to see fans styling these new hats.”

Speaking to the connection that this imagery has to fans, Nicholas Kraft, a co-founder at Chain said, “Those Pizza Hut Tiffany lamps are some of the most iconic pieces of New Americana design. They elicit such joy and fond memories –and let’s be real: they kind a look like bucket hats all on their own.”

While many people will hover over the website to purchase this special food fashion, it is interesting that the pizza brand decided to launch this special look going into the summer months. Given that a bucket hat can be won almost anywhere, it might become the must have accessory.

The Hut Hat will be available via eatatchain.com/pages/hut_hat starting March 5 at 12 p.m. PT. It retails for $35 and the offering is limited.
