Next Level Chef Season 2 adds another twist to the culinary competition

On food television culinary competitions, the concept needs to blend what makes watching the screen great with an evolving concept. Even though one show has rarely varied from its two-challenge format, the reality is that food television fans want to be excited when a new episode airs. A touch of unexpected adds to the viewing enjoyment. On Next Level Chef Season 2, a second mid-season twist could impact the competition in a big way.

When Next Level Chef Season 2 debuted, the Immunity Pin was a new item that did have an impact in the competition. Although three chefs earned the privilege, only one chef reaped the rewards when the immunity pin kept him out of the elimination round. After the teams were disbanded, the individual competition took away the Immunity Pin.

Added in the most recent episode, the “time token” could be a major game changer for the FOX culinary competition. Although viewers will have to wait and see how each winning chef chooses to employ this advantage, it is more than just a leg up. It could also be a sabotage.

The Time Token allows the person to either add 10 additional seconds to the start of their platform grab or they can take 10 seconds away from another competitor. While 10 seconds might not seem like a huge amount of time, it has proven to be a difference.

As seen in several challenges, there were chefs who were scrambling to get their plate on the platform or did not think quickly on their ingredient grab. Any time difference can and will make a difference in this competition.

Next Level Chef Season 2 has seen twists and turns throughout the competition. While a few chefs have continually be a top competitor, others have seen every level of this competition. The Time Token could seek to take down one of those top chefs.
