When can you get the first taste of the Burger King Spider-Verse Whopper?
As the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to come to theaters this summer, the multiverse is ready to serve its take on an iconic fast food menu item. Although everyone can have it your way at BK, the Burger King Spider-Verse Whopper is a visual and flavor nod to that iconic Marvel character. Why can you get place that order?
Starting on May 15, the Burger King Spider-Verse Whopper will be one of two new menu items coming to BK. Even if some people crave other quick service restaurant food offerings, the connection to the Spider-Man franchise will have some people running to experience the food, and take a photo to commemorate the event.
According to Pat O’Toole, Chief Marketing Officer, Burger King North America, “Like the infinite number of universes that can be explored in the next installment of the award-winning Spider-Man franchise, Burger King fans can discover new and exciting ways to customize the “Spider-Verse” menu items. This co-promotion allows us to bring the best of both worlds together, creating countless possibilities for Guests to have it their way and rule their Spider-Verse.”
As fans anticipate that first bite of the Spider-Verse Whopper, the visual needs to be appreciated. The red bun with black sesame seeds might infer a spiciness, but it is just a visual nod to the iconic character. No one should worry that this bun is a fiery experience.
In addition, the burger is made with melted Swiss cheese and the other traditional Whopper toppings. If guests prefer a different topping, the Spider-Verse Whopper can be customized. From bacon to no mayonnaise, there are as many combinations as there are multi-verse possibilities.
For guests who prefer a sweet taste, there is a Spider-Verse Sundae. In this dessert, the “soft serve ice cream is topped with black and red popping candies.” Again, the colors are a clear nod to the character, but the popping candies are a nice surprise. It will be interesting to see how the popping candies retain their character in the frozen dessert.
