For many people, the opportunity to dine at a Michelin Starred restaurant is the ultimate food experience. It is more than just a stunning photograph shared on social media or the envy from friends over that impeccable bite. When a restaurant receives a Michelin Star, the designation represents the craft, expertise, and innovation that a culinary group strives to put on the table each and every night. The 2023 Michelin Guide Florida recognized both new and established starred restaurants across the state.

In the 2023 Michelin Guide Florida, 19 restaurants were awarded Stars designation. For the first time, restaurants in Tampa joined returning favorites from Miami and Orlando. As Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides shared, “Florida has three distinct culinary hotspots that make the state a premier destination for gourmet-travelers, who can experience a wealth of flavors and creative cooking styles.”

Returning as Florida’s only two-starred Michelin restaurant, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Miami continues to exceed expectations. Alain Verzeroli, Culinary Director at The Bastion Collection said “It’s a big honor to receive two Michelin stars again this year for L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon. We are always working to improve every day to continue to make it a better experience for our customers. I’m really proud of our team.”

Other returning restaurant highlights include Stubborn Seed (Jeremy Ford, Top Chef/Fast Foodies), Knife & Spoon (John Tesar’s restaurant at the Ritz Carolton Orlando), and Soseki in Orlando.

The new Michelin Starred restaurants in Florida include Koya (Tampa), Lilac (Tampa), Rocca (Tampa) and Tambourine Room by Tristan Brandy (Miami). These additions represent the breadth and depth of Florida’s culinary scene. From contemporary cuisine to intimate Japanese dining, the culinary teams are proving that the Sunshine State is and will continue to be a dining destination.

In addition to the Starred restaurants, the 2023 Michelin Guide Florida added more restaurants to the Bib Gourmand list. For this year, there are a total of 33 establishments, all of which offer one to two courses with a glass of wine under $50. For food enthusiasts who want to get a taste of elevated cuisine, the Bib Gourmand list is the perfect starting point. From a special occasion to trying something new, these restaurants need to be added to the must dine list.
