Welch’s Zero Sugar Fruity Bites give consumers more snacking variety
From the school lunch box to a mid-afternoon break, fruit snacks have become a staple. While the kids might appreciate that burst of sweetness, parents have been known to enjoy some as well. Although those little treats satisfy, many consumers want products that fit into their balanced eating choices. With Welch’s Zero Sugar Fruity Bites, the flavor is front and center, but the sugar is removed from the snack food conversation.
Food trends can sometimes have a healthy eating slant. Although there is always a place for more fruits and vegetables, healthy eating does not have to be focused solely on that produce aisle. People find ways to enjoy favorite food choices with less sugar or other additives. It can be a priority for many shoppers.
The Comprehensive Research Report by Marketing Research Future predicts that the demand for sugar-free treats will continue to rise. The market is said to be almost $7 billion by 2023. Whether that segment is due to need, want, or a combination of both, the reality is that brands need to capture that audience.
According to Nicole Luisi, Senior Brand Manager, Welch’s Fruit Snacks, “We’re excited to expand our product offerings with Welch’s ZERO SUGAR Fruity Bites. With this new innovation, fans of our iconic fruit snacks with specific dietary preferences or restrictions can again enjoy that same delicious taste and texture they have grown to love, giving them a deliciously fruity snack without any compromise.”
Looking to fill that void, the new Welch’s Zero Sugar Fruity Bites seek to capture the four in ten shoppers who prefer sugar-free snacks. Without having to compromise on flavor, the newest snack is a take on what people already know and love. It has a similar texture, which is important. Plus, the snacks are aspartame-free, which is important to some consumers.
To launch the Welch’s Zero Sugar Fruity Bites, there are three flavors, Mixed Fruit, Berries ‘n Cherries, and Island Fruits. While prices may variety, the suggested retail is $3.99 for a 3 oz bag. Additional formats will become available in early 2024. Check online, Amazon or with retailers for availability.
