Wisconsin Cheese to host the first annual Art of Cheese event
While the Green Bay Packers games might be full of Cheeseheads, those boldly dressed fans are not the only cheese lovers in the state. During the first annual Art of Cheese, Wisconsin Cheese is ready to welcome turophiles from near and far to this food festival event.
As many cheese lovers know, Wisconsin Cheese stands out as one of the more celebrated cheese locales. From the multi-generational cheese makers to the prestigious awards won, the state’s food industry is legendary.
The first annual Art of Cheese, held from September 29-October 1, features 16 unique events. The multi-day experience is capped off with the first ever Wisconsin Cheese Ball. Whether or not there will be a king and queen of cheese remains to be seen.
According to Suzanne Fanning, Chief Marketing Officer of Wisconsin Cheese and Senior Vice President of Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, “Our research shows that people who really love food plan travel around great food experiences, and we know there are people all over the country who are extremely passionate about Wisconsin Cheese. We set out to plan the ultimate destination cheese festival of food lovers’ dreams, and I think you’ll discover that’s exactly what we did!”
Some event highlights during the Art of Cheese from Wisconsin Cheese
With 16 events that highlight the diversity of America’s Dairyland, the events give guests a taste of the craft, history, and creativity that goes into making some of the nation’s best cheese. From touring creameries to special dining events, guests may want to purchase tickets to several offerings.
One highlight that will sell out quickly is the Bourbon and Cheese excursion. Led by James Beard Award-nominated chef Daniel Fox, the nuanced food pairing will have many people looking differently at the cheese plate. It is a celebration of all the senses.
Of course, the Wisconsin Cheese Ball will have everyone putting on the ritz. From cutting it up on the dance floor to savoring the night away with delectable food, the evening will be a night to remember.
