Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood adds two new live experiences
As guests prepare to step onto that Terror Tram, Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood announces two new live experiences. From the devious Blumhouse minds, The Purge: Dangerous Waters and Blumhouse: Behind the Screams will have everyone wondering if they will escape the peril that awaits them.
Although Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood usually brings out the stars out for the screams, some of the most iconic Blumhouse characters will be lurking in the darkness waiting to make people jump. In addition to previously announced haunted houses, like Stranger Things and The Last of Us, these two new live experiences might be the highlight of the evening.
According to HHN Hollywood, The Purge: Dangerous Waters leans into an inherent fear that many people hold, water. Taking over the WaterWorld venue, the Purgers are on the hunt throughout The Sanctuary. While massive explosions have the audience gasping, the anarchy at every turn has people wondering what will await them when they leave the experience.
In Blumhouse: Behind the Screams, guests are invited into some of the brand’s most iconic characters and are introduced to some new ones. By breaking the fourth wall, guests step into those creepy, sinister worlds. From the new Five Nights at Freddy’s and The Exorcist: Believer to the huge hits like M3GAN and The Black Phone, people will see if they are ready to face those characters face to face.
Since the live experiences allow guests to step into the action, the three scarezones will put that perception to the test. From chainsaw wielding ghosts to evil toys, the fog is full of frights. The three scarezones are El Terror de las Momias, Toyz, and Ghostz. Although it is unclear if the names and use of the “z” reflect a dubious ending, these themes will have people looking behind the door long after they return home.
With El Terror de las Momias, the extension to Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America, it allows HHN Hollywood to have a deeper cultural connection. Even though pop culture and movie references have a broad audience, these offerings show how certain fears are universal.
Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood runs Thursday, September 7 through Tuesday, October 31 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Check with the theme park for pricing, availability, and additional options.
