Little Goat Ranch Chili Crunch takes Hidden Valley Ranch in a new direction
The new Little Goat Ranch Chili Crunch might be the condiment that will change the food conversation forever. A collaboration between celebrated chef Stephanie Izard and Hidden Valley Ranch, the small jar packs big, bold flavor that drizzles unlimited possibilities.
Anyone who has dined at a Stephanie Izard restaurant appreciates that the chef is never afraid to put flavor front and center on the plate. Globally influenced dishes celebrate all the flavor profiles.
For those who have not sat at her tables, her line of Little Goat condiments has been a way to bring those flavors to the home kitchen. Although they might not be the same as the culinary creativity that the chef brings to Food Network competitions, the sauces invite home cooks to step out of their comfort zone and explore flavor.
Speaking to this Hidden Valley Ranch collaboration, Chef Izard said, “I’ve always been a huge Hidden Valley Ranch fan – it’s no secret that there is always a bottle in my fridge – so I was really excited to have the opportunity to partner with them. Both Ranch and Chili Crunch make just about everything taste better, so it makes sense to put them together to create the perfect topping!”
With the new Little Goat Ranch Chili Crunch, the sauce is a departure for the brand. While there are other drizzle sauces and some cooks have used the classic HVR to create their own recipes, this jar makes it convenient to elevate a dish.
The Ranch Chili Crunch gets its spice element from gochugaru chilis. While there is heat, it is not overpowering, since there is that tanginess from the ranch element. It is not cooling but there is the balance that makes people drizzle a little more.
For the crunch factor, the puffed red quinoa, fried garlic and masa chips bring the texture. Surrounded by sesame oil and chives, the contrasting textures are not jarring. Rather, they add a little surprise to the mouthfeel.
Thinking about this condiment, it would be great drizzled on pizza, chicken wings, or even a burger. More importantly, it would add a whole new approach to a ramen dish or a simple noodle recipe.
For an out of the box approach, consider drizzling this Ranch Chili Crunch on some fish tacos. A grilled fish with the tangy heat could be a great variation on an aioli or other drizzle sauce.
