In the new Kitchen Nightmares Juicy Box episode, the promise of freshly squeezed juices, bold Carribean flavors, and menu variety was quickly erased from Gordon Ramsay’s plans. As seen in this exclusive clip, this restaurant might want to rethink their specials.

According to FOX, Kitchen Nightmares Juicy Box episode features the following:

"A family-run Haitian juice bar and restaurant in Brooklyn, NY has fallen into utter chaos after the owner’s children, who value partying and having fun over the success of their father’s business, take over management. Gordon Ramsay steps in to completely transform the restaurant when the owner is given a 60-day deadline to turn a profit in the all-new “Juicy Box” episode of Kitchen Nightmares airing Monday, October 23 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

Throughout this Kitchen Nightmares season, restaurant efficiency has been on display. From getting food to the guests in a timely fashion to keeping a menu up to date, these first impression moments matter. No one wants to long for a particular dish only to have those flavor hopes dashed by saying it is not available.

As seen in this Kitchen Nightmares Juicy Box exclusive clip provided to FoodSided, Gordon Ramsay is let down even before he lifts a fork for a taste.

This clip is a good example of restaurant mis-management. Having certain menu items unavailable is unacceptable for a successful business. It is more than replacing broken equipment. Chefs might be familiar with the term ‘86, but this scenario is more than just running out of food during a rush. This moment is lack of smart business planning.

More importantly, a restaurant with the name “juice” should be able to serve a freshly prepared juice. Some people might not distinguish between a juice and a smoothie, but there is a significant difference. It might not be a bait and switch, but it is another example how the guest could be left feeling underappreciated.

While there will be many more twists and turns in the Kitchen Nightmares Juicy Box episode, the underlying concept is one that many family run businesses face. Passing the restaurant onto the next generation is not as easy as it seems. Whether the kids do not have the work ethic, appreciation, or desire to carry on the endeavor is just one aspect. They have to want to continue on that legacy. Working in a restaurant is not always fun. The desire to bring that hospitality to others needs to drive the person in charge. Without that sentiment, all could be lost.

Can Gordon Ramsay help turn this family run business around? Be sure to watch Kitchen Nightmares Juicy Box, Monday, November 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. Episodes are available to stream the next day on Hulu.
