While the classic southern style chicken sandwich with its pickle is an iconic quick service restaurant menu item, Chick-fil-A looks to offer bigger, bolder flavors periodically. Since the winter months can be a little dreary, bleak, or bland, two menu items are back to bring some zesty flavor to the table.
Starting on January 7, Chick-fil-A is offering new menu items. The returning favorites received much fanfare when they first hit restaurants. It is time to resolve to enjoy big flavor in every bite.
First offered in 2021, Grilled Spicy Deluxe Sandwich found a loyal audience with its bold flavor. Unlike other spicy chicken options that go extreme, this slow burn taste brings the heat without overpowering the whole food experience.
The real star of this sandwich is the Cilantro Lime Sauce. Although some people may not appreciate the controversial herb, others will ask for an extra serving of the condiment. The combination of cilantro and lime feels like a cool beach breeze. Even though the wintry temperatures can be more brisk, this flavor refreshment is a welcome addition.
As Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A explained, “Winter is a great time to bring back the Grilled Spicy Deluxe, a sandwich that packs the flavor in every layer, while bringing the spice our Guests crave at this time of year. The sandwich pairs perfectly with the new Key Lime beverages, which offer a cool and creamy complement and brighten up our menu offerings to beat those winter blues.”
Continuing the lime offerings, Chick-fil-A is bringing back its Key Lime seasonal beverages. The Key Lime flavor will be offered in both Key Lime Frosted Lemonade and Key Lime Lemonade. The sweet, yet tart, flavor works well with both options.
That punch of sour from the Key Lime is the brightness that blends well with the classic Chick-fil-A lemonade. Without overpowering the classic beverage, it offers a lift that makes every sip even more refreshing.
The Key Lime beverages seem to showcase a trend for Chick-fil-A. The periodic, limited time beverages add excitement to the menu. Whether it is a new offering that people cannot wait to try a new or a returning favorite, they add complexity to the food pairings. Each one goes well with that classic chicken, but they also entice guests to make a special visit. Sometimes a creative beverage program is just as vital as tasty food.
The Grilled Spicy Deluxe sandwich and Key Lime beverages return to restaurants on January 7, 2025. They will be available for a limited time, but the exact end date is unavailable. Check with local restaurants for availability and pricing.
