Food and sports are forever intertwined. Even some activities channel a briny bite in their namesake. Corona Premier and Saweetie are heading to the pickleball court with a new post-game sipper. It is time to put down the paddles and raise a toast to the Corona Pickle Premier.

Pickleball is the approachable sport that has surged in popularity. While the terms might have people confused about being in or out of the kitchen, the ease of play makes it a popular choice. That unmistakable “pop” sound followed by spirited conversation makes pickleball a must play for everyone.

Since pickleball is as much about the community as it is about the celebrating a victory, Corona Premier and Saweetie are joining forces to celebrate those post-game moments. With a Corona Pickle Premier in hand, the Grammy nominated artist and entrepreneur is ready to bring some excitement to Premier Side of Light with the Dink N’ Drink event.

Through her partnership with Corona Premier, Saweetie spoke with FoodSided about being part of a Corona family, her appreciation for pickleball, and some new music for the summer.

While this Dink N’ Drink event will be held in New York City on April 23, Saweetie said that she has been a Corona fan for a long time. She said, “growing up, we were a Corona family. I think that Corona encourages fun, light-hearted, good time gatherings with family and friends. That is how I remember the brand growing up.”

Having that personal connection is vital for her brand partnerships. Saweetie believes that this collaboration creates a fusion. She said, “it excites both our audiences and that is important to me. My brand is so personable. My fans know if I really believe in a product. I’ve always loved the Corona brand, and I’m excited to have this partnership with them.”

This special New York City pickleball event is more about the fun than crowning a victor. Pickleball is the sport that appeals to athletes and non-athletic players, too.

As Saweetie explained, “I think what makes pickleball more approachable is because it is centered around the socializing and having fun with your social groups. It is really easy to pick up. I’m not saying that because I’m an athlete, but it is a laid back sport. This Corona event is about having a good time and following it up with a refreshing drink, like Corona Pickle Premier."

Combining the pickle and the Corona, MuddlingMemories created a special beverage for the NYC event. Saweetie said she loves the briny pickle and the spice of the ginger beer with the Corona.

Here’s how to make the Corona Pickle Premier.

For those looking to toast to the event, Saweetie shared her family’s traditional saying. “When I make a toast with my family or friends, we raise our hand high and say, I’m right above you.
