Year after year, the Easter bunny fills his basket with a bounty of treats. This springtime, everyone can get involved with some egg-tastic fun. Do not wait for that traditional roll after the holiday, it is time to get egging.
When people hear the phrase, my house got egged, they might not be smiling. That old school trick that left homeowners picking yolks and shells off the window was far from fun. In today’s climate, few people would waste a precious egg on a cruel joke.
The idea of “egging” a neighbor, friend, or someone in need of a sweet treat is similar to that “got booed” concept that happens around Halloween. After answering that ding, the door is opened to a bevy of treats waiting to be enjoyed.
Hershey’s, and some of its iconic egg candy brands, want to make “you got egged” a new springtime tradition. As Melissa Blette, senior brand manager, Reese's at The Hershey Company said, “Reese's and Cadbury eggs have long been an iconic symbol of the Easter season, and we wanted to give fans a way to definitively kickoff the season with a sweet twist. As the seasonal leaders in all things eggs, we're bringing fans inspiration from our partner, Jasmine Roth, and want to continue the egging chain with friends, coworkers and family for many Easters to come!"

Jasmine Roth, HGTV star and DIY expert, partnered with the candy brand to offer some fun, colorful, and sweet suggestions on creating an ultimate egging extravaganza. She explained, "There's something so fun about surprising your loved ones, and this tradition does exactly that. Ie loved decking out my family's house with Easter colors, egg-themed décor, and, of course, my favorite Reese's and Cadbury treats. It's such an easy way to bring joy to your friends, family, or even your neighbors. Who wouldn't want to come home to a sweet surprise?”
To create an “egg-tastic” surprise, creating the basket is simple. Reese’s and Cadbury have over 14 different egg-shaped candies in the line. From the classic peanut butter cup to the shimmering candy coated chocolate option, there is something for everyone.
With candy in hand, add some other elements to that basket. From some bunny ears to maybe some fun sunglasses, there are plenty of options to make a full gift.
Also, a theme could be fun. While the eggs are the sweetness, why not create a story how the bunny hopped down the trial to arrive with that “You’ve Been Egged” moment. Given that the idea is to spread more sweetness to others, continuing this fun journey would make for shareable moments. Why not create a character, like a “flat bunny” to see how far he can travel.
