The simple question, want to grab a coffee, can be more than just enjoying a beverage with another person. The conversation, questions, and just time spent together can create a connection. International Delight, Taylor Krause, and Garrett Josemans encourage everyone to fill their mug and see where that coffee date goes.
For Love Is Blind fans, they know Taylor’s and Garrett’s story. After discovering their connection in the pods, the couple has fostered a strong marriage. While their story might not be the traditional happily ever after, the married couple appreciates that they took the time to learn about each other before they even set eyes on one another.
Recently, International Delight asked the couple to help them launch Love is Blind Creamers and Iced Coffee as well as host a special coffee date contest. The Love Is Blind flavors are Wedding Cake and Chocolate Covered Strawberry Creamers and Wedding Cake iced coffee.
Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans regarding their International Delight partnership. As fans of the show appreciate, the couple learned a lot about each other over sharing a coffee.
Garrett explained, “I would start my day and make coffee right around the time that Taylor woke up. It was always our first touch point in the morning and that has carried over into our relationship now. It sets the tone for the rest of the day. On really busy days, it might be the only opportunity for us to connect. It is really important for us to have that moment in the morning.”
While the couple understands that their dating situation is unconventional, they believe that aspects of the scenario are beneficial. As Taylor explained, “I have a lot of girlfriends that are single and they said that the biggest inspiration (from the show) that they've had is just being more open minded about the person that they're dating and seeing them as a lifelong partner.”
In many ways, that willingness to take the first step is vital. A coffee date is that opportunity to have a few moments to just have a conversation. It is not a big commitment, but it can build into something more.
At the same time, it does not mean that people have to order the same coffee beverage to make that connection. Taylor and Garrett have different coffee orders. While Taylor tends to switch her order depending on the seasons, Garrett has a sweet tooth. The Wedding Cake creamer is his preferred creamer.
Those preferences can be the conversation spark on a coffee date. As the couple agreed, getting a person to talk about their food and beverage likes and dislikes is a way to get to know them. Also, it can be a chance to try something new. It goes back to that idea of being open minded. Yes, a person who loves matcha can fall in love with a person who loves Wedding Cake Iced Coffee.
To celebrate those connections during a coffee date, International Delight, Taylor, and Garrett will are hosting the Blind Coffee Date Delivery Contest. Whether in person or virtually, the special event is meant get people talking and maybe make a connection.
Speaking about why a coffee date works, Garrett said, “coffee dates are a great way to have a low cost, low barrier of entry to try to get in there, have important conversations and connect on a deeper level.”
Granted no one has to bring up their dream wedding during their first date, but they can get beyond how is the weather and who is your favorite sports team. At least one big question can determine whether there is a second coffee date on the horizon.
After finding their lifelong connection over coffee, Taylor and Garrett are ready to celebrate Valentine's Day this year. They have a date night set up and they are getting ready to move back to Washington, DC. Their journey might have started in the pods, but they have a whole world ready to explore together.
