A New York institution, Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding has people lining up for a spoonful of that fluffy, sweet dessert. While some people would happily buy extra containers for their trip home, the iconic dessert could not be frozen or saved for later. With the newest food innovation, everyone can have a spoonful of that banana gooey goodness straight from their kitchen.
Recently, the brand surveyed its customers and found 67% are "very likely to purchase banana pudding if it was available more often.” While the brand has sold more than 2.2 million cups, it wants to keep that growth going. Not only does it have a loyal fan base, but there is an untapped market that can be explored.
Available now, Magnolia Bakery is offering a new line of frozen-to-thaw Banana Puddings. This food innovation is a marvel. As anyone who has tried previously understands, freezing and thawing bananas creates a less that stellar visual. The taste might be fine, but no one wants a bowl full of brown fruit.
After three years of extensive research, Magnolia Bakery created a product that uses real banana that can be frozen and thawed, without the browning issue. It does not melt, like a traditional frozen item.
More importantly, when that frozen dessert is thawed, it keeps the same fluffy texture that people expect from the classic dessert. It is truly a modern marvel.
For the launch, there will be three flavors available: Wafer Cookie Bits, Chocolatey Hazelnut Swirl, Red Velvet Cookie Bits. Each one will be sold in a 14 oz cup.
The special frozen Magnolia Banana Bread Pudding will be available at DoorDash, Wonder, Amazon Fresh and Gopuff.
Additionally, United Airlines domestic first-class passengers will be able to enjoy a 3 oz version of the Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding – Wafer Cookie Bits on flights. This option will be available starting on December 1.
